Children - Direct Support

Applications are accepted for families of dependent children (up to age 21) who have been diagnosed as having cancer and are undergoing treatment for it.  Funds are intended to cover expenses of necessary services that the patient's family cannot afford.  The request, however, does not have to be for medical treatment.  Requests may be for temporary housing or travel during treatment, emergency financial needs, or other special needs or expenses required by the family.

Adults - Direct Support

Applications are accepted for adults (age 21 and over) who have been diagnosed as having cancer and are undergoing treatment for it.  Funds are intended to cover expenses of necessary services that the patient cannot afford.  The request, however, does not have to be for medical treatment (often covered by insurance or government agencies).  Requests may be for temporary housing or travel during treatment, emergency financial needs or other special assistance.

Cancer Support Organizations

Applications are accepted from other tax exempt charities and organizations that provide cancer related services such as research, treatment, early detection, family support, hospice, and education.  Organizations providing these services may request financial grants from Take a Swing at Cancer, Inc. by completing our application and submitting it, along with supporting documentation.  Our policy is not to support the fundraising events of other organizations, but rather to support specific budgets and programs.

Cancer Research Organizations

Applications are accepted from organizations and institutions for specific research projects that may lead to new cancer treatments and diagnostic tools.  Awards are typically made to smaller organizations that do not have many sources of funding.  It should be noted that there are also several agreements and protocols that must be followed after the grant is awarded.  This is mostly to keep Take a Swing at Cancer, Inc. informed as to the progress of the research.
